Training Overview
How does the All-Issues
Training Package work?
The training process will
be as follows:
- BPEC receives your Registration
Form and contacts you back to see how we can help with your particular needs
- An initial free pre-training
visit is organized - a BPEC training expert, with appropriate qualifications for
your school's sector(s), will attend your school to discuss your specific requirements
in greater detail and to arrange the second pre-training visit
- You complete and return
a Booking Confirmation Form to BPEC - once received BPEC will make the final arrangements
and formally contract your trainer(s)
- The second follow-up pre-training
visit is undertaken, to precisely tailor the training content to your school's
specific needs - ensuring the very best help and advice is provided via a genuinely
bespoke package
- The venue* and date(s),
of your choosing, are agreed for the training - BPEC will then confirm the course
content and details with your school, in writing
- The training will be delivered
on your selected date(s)
- BPEC invoices your school
for payment
- Optional follow-up visit
(arranged on request)
*Please note that
there may be an additional charge where schools select commercial venues, such
as hotels etc.

Registration
Do I have to register?
In order to facilitate the
organization of the free pre-training visits, and the assignment of qualified
trainers to schools, BPEC kindly requests that all interested schools return their Registration Form.
Am I committed to the training
if I return my Registration Form?
No. Returning your Registration
Form does not in any way obligate your school to undertake the training.
I had a problem with the
Online Registration Form - what should I do?
Please print
out a copy of the Registration Form and return it by post / fax. Alternatively
visit the contact / customer service
page for help.
Pre-Training
Visits Information
What are the two pre-training
visits used for - how will they benefit my school / setting?
The two pre-training visits
are essential to the process of creating your fully customized training content.
They enable the All-Issues Training Package content to be designed and
implemented on an individual basis. This is the only way for BPEC to ensure that
your school receives good value and a high quality, genuinely bespoke training
package. BPEC cannot deliver a standard training package to all-comers, as
this would defeat the object of the training and negate its educational value.
During the first visit the
qualified BPEC trainer will discuss the areas in which your school needs assistance
or advice and examine any available data, including your last OFSTED / ESTYN inspection
report and any other relevant information on hand.
During the second visit,
your assigned trainer will directly observe practices, related to the issues identified
in the first visit. This visit is required to ensure that the correct help,
advice and training materials are created and delivered.
When and where will the
pre-training visits take place?
The pre-training visits
will take place on mutually agreeable dates for both your school and BPEC. The
pre-training visits / meetings must be conducted at your school (see previous
FAQ).
Is there any charge for
the pre-training visit - even if I don't take the training?
There is no charge for the
pre-training visit - it is free in all cases.
How long will it be between
the pre-training visit and the training?
This will depend upon when
BPEC can arrange the training and when your school's staff can be made available
- BPEC will endeavour to arrange your All-Issues Training as quickly as
possible.
When will my school be committed
to taking the training?
After the first pre-training
visit, BPEC will ask you to complete and return a Booking Confirmation Form. This
will commit you to the training. Once this confirmation is received, BPEC will
make the final arrangements and formally contract your trainer(s).
After the second pre-training
visit, BPEC will confirm the specific details (i.e. the date(s) and content) of
your training package in writing.
Training
Content
Is the training suitable
for schools in England and Wales?
Yes, training can be designed
for all English and Welsh educational settings inspected by either OFSTED (England)
or ESTYN (Wales), including PRUs etc.
How long will the training
last?
The All-Issues Training
Package is designed to last for one or two days. Schools may request additional
training days if they require them.
Will my school need an additional
training day?
It is unlikely that your
school will need an additional training day.
Is there any obligation
to take a follow-up visit and will my school need one?
No. There is absolutely
no obligation to have a follow-up visit training day. BPEC has in the past been
asked to provide this service and this is the reason for offering it.
Will the same trainer undertake
the follow-up visit?
Yes. Wherever possible the
same trainer will undertake all of your training days.
What will the training include
and cover?
The precise course content
and delivery will vary to meet your school's specific requirements - some examples
of what the All-Issues Training Package can show any participating school
/ setting are as follows:
- How to discover potential
weaknesses in management, teaching and resources - particularly beneficial if
training is undertaken before your next School Inspection
- How to implement improved
practices as required - to produce sustainable, positive results
- How to understand the inspection
process and how it operates - know what the inspectors are required to look for
when making judgments
- How to collect the information
inspectors need - provide it on-demand, when required, and gain full credit as
a result
- How to target lessons to
specific groups with unique needs - ensure equality of educational opportunity
is provided for all pupils
- How to implement any changes
that may have been requested or highlighted, for example, by your most recent
OFSTED / ESTYN inspection report or during the pre-training visits
- Your All-Issues Training
will provide expert help and practical advice on any management, teaching and
/ or resources issues that either yourself or BPEC can identify...
How flexible is the training
content - will it really be tailored to my school?
The All-Issues Training
Package is purpose-designed to provide a genuinely effective, bespoke service:
generic issue-focussed training would not be effective. All educational settings
are different and have unique strengths, weaknesses and needs. A generic "one
size fits all" package would defeat the object of the training and negate
its educational value.
Your All-Issues Training
Package will be uniquely tailored to your school's precise requirements.
This process is made possible by your initial free pre-training visit and the
second follow-up pre-training visit - click here for
more details.
Training
Delivery
Where can the training be
delivered?
The two pre-training visits
must be conducted at your school / setting. The actual All-Issues Training
day(s) can be delivered in-service, at your school, or at any other appropriate
venue. Please note that there may be an additional charge where schools select
commercial venues, such as hotels etc.
How will the All-Issues
Training be delivered?
Your All-Issues Training
will be delivered by one or more expert, fully qualified trainers using a varied
combination of OHPs, handouts, group work and evidence / data review. The exact
methods used will depend upon the issue(s) / area(s) the training package has
