Training Overview
How does the Self-Select
Training Package work?
The training process will
be as follows:
- BPEC receives your Registration
Form and contacts you back to see how we can help with your particular needs
- A free pre-training visit
is organized - a BPEC training expert, with appropriate qualifications for your
school's sector(s), will attend your school to discuss your specific requirements
in greater detail
- You complete and return
a Booking Confirmation Form to BPEC - once received BPEC will make the final arrangements
and formally contract your trainer(s)
- The venue* and date(s),
of your choosing, are agreed for the training - BPEC will then confirm the course
content and details with your school, in writing
- The training will be delivered
on your selected date(s)
- BPEC invoices your school
for payment
- Optional follow-up visit
(arranged on request)
*Please note that
there may be an additional charge where schools select commercial venues, such
as hotels etc.

Registration
Do I have to register?
In order to facilitate the
organization of the free pre-training visit, and the assignment of qualified trainers
to schools, BPEC kindly requests that all interested schools return their Registration Form.
Am I committed to the training
if I return my Registration Form?
No. Returning your Registration
Form does not in any way obligate your school to undertake the training.
I had a problem with the
Online Registration Form - what should I do?
Please print
out a copy of the Registration Form and return it by post / fax. Alternatively
visit the contact / customer service
page for help.
Pre-Training
Visit Information
What is the two pre-training
visit for - how will it benefit my school / setting?
The pre-training visit enables
you to dictate and discuss the Self-Select Training Package content you
require - training will then be designed and implemented based upon your wishes.
This is the only way for BPEC to ensure that your school receives good value and
a high quality, bespoke training package. BPEC cannot deliver a standard training
package to all-comers, as this would defeat the object of the training and negate
its educational value.
During the first visit the
qualified BPEC trainer will also examine any available data, including your last
OFSTED / ESTYN inspection report and any other relevant information on hand.
When and where will the
pre-training visit take place?
The pre-training visit will
take place on mutually agreeable dates for both your school and BPEC. The pre-training
meeting is best conducted at your school (see previous FAQ).
Is there any charge for
the pre-training visit - even if I don't take the training?
There is no charge for the
pre-training visit - it is free in all cases.
How long will it be between
the pre-training visit and the training?
This will depend upon when
BPEC can arrange the training and when your school's staff can be made available
- BPEC will endeavour to arrange your Self-Select Training as quickly as
possible.
When will my school be committed
to taking the training?
After the pre-training visit,
BPEC will confirm the details of your training in writing. At this point BPEC
will ask you to return a Booking Confirmation Form. This will commit you to the
training. Once this confirmation is received, BPEC will make the final arrangements
and formally contract your trainer(s).
Training
Content
Is the training suitable
for schools in England and Wales?
Yes, training can be designed
for all English and Welsh educational settings, including PRUs etc.
How long will the training
last?
The Self-Select Training
Package is designed to last for one or two days. Schools may request additional
training days if they require them.
Will my school need an additional
training day?
It is unlikely that your
school will need an additional training day.
Is there any obligation
to take a follow-up visit and will my school need one?
No. There is absolutely
no obligation to have a follow-up visit training day. BPEC has in the past been
asked to provide this service and this is the reason for offering it.
Will the same trainer undertake
the follow-up visit?
Yes. Wherever possible the
same trainer will undertake all of your training days.
What will the training include
and cover?
The precise course content
and delivery will vary to meet your school's specific requested requirements -
some examples of what the Self-Select Training Package can enable any
participating school / setting to accomplish are as follows:
- Resolve weaknesses in management,
planning, teaching and / or resources
- Implement required improvements
to teaching practices and / or provision
- Manage assessment, self-evaluation,
pupil data and reporting to parents
- Complete appropriate staff
development / training programs
- Create flexible lesson
plans, suitable for pupils of all abilities
- Handle ethnicity and equal
opportunities issues
- Strengthen your Special
Educational Needs (SEN) policy or procedures
- Your Self-Select
Training will provide expert advice and practical help on any management,
teaching, provision or resources issue that you require...
How flexible is the training
content - will it really be tailored to my school?
Your Self-Select Training
Package will be uniquely tailored to your school's precise requirements:
you tell us what you want and when you want it. BPEC will then create your training
package, targeted to your specific needs, from the ground up, to show you exactly
how to achieve what you want. This process is made possible by your free pre-training
visit - click here for more details.
Training
Delivery
Where can the training be
delivered?

day(s) can be delivered in-service, at your school, or at any other appropriate
venue. Please note that there may be an additional charge where schools select
commercial venues, such as hotels etc.
